Moscow (Reuters)-The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed on Thursday that Major General Mikhail Gudkov, deputy chief of the Navy, was killed in the border area of the Kursk region, state news agency Tass said.
Oleg Kozhemyako, governor of a region of the far east of Russia, said earlier on Thursday that Gudkov, who led a brigade that fought the Ukrainian forces in Kursk, had been killed.
