In the case of cherries, their basic cut should be carried out immediately after harvesting, i.e. in the period from mid -July to the end of August. The latest possible date, when we can do it, is the beginning of September.

This treatment aims to x -ray the crown and remove shoots that are not productive and fruit does not grow. This will make the other branches get more light that will have a positive effect on the quantity and quality of crops. Therefore, when it comes to cherries, it is definitely better to focus not on quantity, but on quality.

Remember to remove them, Leave about 30-50 cm of the segment of the cut branch, creating the so-called The plug, from which young shoots will grow later. Let us also be careful about which shoots we cut because In the case of cherries, two -year and three -year -old branches spend the most fruit. Let’s pay attention not to remove them mistakenly.

Let’s also remember to take care of the tree after cutting, using which is a mechanical barrier between the exposed piece of the tree and the external environment.
