Jonas Abrahamsen, a cyclist of the Uno-X Mobility team and already winner of a stage on the tour of France, surprised his followers by sharing on social networks the amount of food consumed after one of the most demanding steps of the race, which ended in the iconic Hautacam.

The Danish showed his full dinner, illustrating the growing importance of nutrition in high performance cycling. The publication initially understood that the 7700 calories referred to only to the night’s meal. However, when analyzing shared nutritional values, it is clear that this number concerns the daily total.

The goal, rather than eating a lot, is to eat accurately: neither more nor less. Macros (macronutrient values such as protein, carbohydrates and fats) reveal strict control of food intake, something increasingly valued in elite sport.

With tough steps and extreme physical wear, the tour requires not only resistance but also a dietary strategy in detail. And Jonas Abrahamsen is proof of this, not only for the road performance, but also for the discipline outside of it.
