Slovakia mourns: A close associate († 92) Alexander Dubček and former MP of the National Council of the Slovak Republic died!

At the age of 92, the historian, university teacher and former deputy of the National Council (NR) of the Slovak Republic Ivan Laluha died on Monday (21 July). TASR informed his close family.

Laluha was born on November 20, 1932 in Tekovské Lužany. After the Velvet Revolution he was a politician for the public against violence. From 1990 to 1992 he was a member of the Federal Assembly of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic and chairman of the Social Committee. From 1992 to 1994 he was a member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic and the first chairman of the Foreign Committee.

He was one of the close collaborators of Alexander Dubček, He was also a long -time vice -chairman of Alexander Dubček, author and co -author of many publications, scientific proceedings, shows, commemorative days and exhibitions dedicated to Dubček and his legacy. He won several awards, he was also the holder of the state award of the Council of Ľudovít Štúr II. class.

He was a historian, sociologist, author of many scientific publications, projects and university textbooks, He significantly contributed to the expansion of social development and quality of life and also in the field of the latest Slovak history.
