PM seizes more than 3 kg of marijuana and arrest man during approach on BR-317

During a routine inspection on BR-317, height of km 90, near the Caquetá region, in Acre, military police of the 3rd Battalion arrested Isaac da Cunha Costa, 27, for drug trafficking. The blatant occurred on the afternoon of Wednesday (23), at the Sefaz Control Post.

The suspect drove a white Renault Kwid, with plates qwo-4d71, and was going towards Rio Branco/Boca do Acre. During the approach, the police requested the driver’s documents and noticed a strong marijuana odor from the interior of the vehicle.

Asked about the presence of drugs, Isaac denied any irregularity. However, during the trunk survey, several packages containing marijuana were found, totaling 3.010 kg of the substance. According to the PM, the intense smell was caused by the rupture of one of the enclosures, which facilitated the identification of the narcotic.

Despite not having criminal records, the driver said the drug would be for personal consumption. Even so, he received a prison voice and was taken to the Flagrant Police Station (Defla), where he was available to the court. The seized material was also delivered to the authorities for the appropriate legal proceedings.
