At least since Johann Wolfgang von Goethe over two hundred years ago Italian journey published, the Belpaese for millions of German -speaking people is the country of longing par excellence. Serious cities, cultural assets at every turn, breathtaking landscapes, excellent cuisine. No wonder that mass tourism was practically invented in Italy.
