Cetesb had already approved the study, but it is the advice that gives the final word. This is the last barrier for Tarcisio to continue the plan to auction the tunnel on September 5 at B3 headquarters.
The concession for the operation of the tunnel will last 30 years.
The winning company must also present environmental mitigation and compensation projects. The work is expected to start next year and be ready in 2028.
“Cetesb carefully analyzed the project’s social and environmental impacts and has established conditions for the work to occur responsibly. This is a structuring enterprise for B Mobility and Sustainable Development,” says Cetesb CEO Thomaz Toledo.
Of the cost of R $ 6.8 billion for the work, R $ 1.66 billion will be paid by the winning company of the auction. The other R $ 5.14 billion will be divided by the Federal and Paulista governments.
According to Tarcisio management, the tunnel will be the first of its kind in Brazil, with 1.5 km long, with three tracks per direction, exclusive track for the VLT, and gallery for pedestrians and cyclists.
