The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, has demanded this Friday to immediately stop the operation that Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, announced this morning for.
Turk understands this Netanyahu Plan as “the complete military conquest of the Gaza Strip” and has denounced that it is an act contrary to the opinion of the International Court of Justice that requires Israel to end its occupation policy.
Turk has warned that the occupation of the city of Gaza will lead to a, most of them previously expelled from other areas of the enclave, as well as “in more murders, more unbearable suffering, meaningless destruction and heinous crimes.”
Turk: “The war in Gaza must end now”
“The war in Gaza must end now, and the Israelis and the Palestinians must work side by side, in peace,” Turk said before asking Israel that, “instead of recruiting this war, dedicating all their efforts to save the lives of civilians in Gaza and allow access unrestricted humanitarian aid.”
Turk, finally, calls both the immediate liberation of Israeli hostages in the hands of the Palestinian armed groups, as well as the Palestinians arbitrarily detained by Israel, which must be released “immediately and unconditionally.”
