Turkey has seen the hottest July in the last 55 years. This was reported on Saturday by the Turkish Ministry of the Environment, writes TASR according to the AFP report. The Ministry on social network X said that Temperatures measured in 66 out of 220 meteorological stations were on average 1.9 degrees Celsius higher than previous years.

In the Turkish town of Silopi near the border with Iraq and Syria at the end of July, they even recorded New National Temperature Record of 50.5 degrees Celsius. The previous 49.5 degree record was measured in August 2023.
Turkey is depressing forest fires as a result of heat. In the west of the country last month, 14 people lost their lives. On Friday, the authorities evacuated hundreds of people in the northwest province of Canakkale, where for two separate fires, the Strait of Dardanelles for Maritime Transport closed.
A wave of heat raises concerns about the lack of water in some areas of Turkey. Cesme on the coast of the Aegean Sea from 25 July restricted water supply for residents and tourists from 23.00 to 06.00.
