Envirorezort allowed the construction of a new hydroelectric power plant in Cunov, Bratislava. This stems from the final opinion of the environmental impact assessment (EIA), which has already come into force. TASR informed the Department of Communication of the Ministry of the Environment (MoE) of the Slovak Republic. He added that the project of the construction of a new hydroelectric power plant is covered by the state -owned enterprise Water Management Construction. The total cost is estimated at at least EUR 50 million.
“The new Čunovská power plant with an installed power of 14.83 MW can cover one smaller regional city in Slovakia with clean energy. What is important, however, the investment will support the production of energy from a renewable source,“Stated the Environment Minister Tomáš Taraba (SNS nominee), not even threatening the agreement between the Government of the Slovak Republic and Hungary on some technical measures and flows to the Danube and the Mošon arm of the Danube of 1995.
In the final opinion of the EIA process, the Ministry also determined the investor 22 technical measures to exclude or reduce the adverse impacts of the project on the environment. He also points out that they also addressed the issues of safe fish migration in the EIA process. In This context, in accordance with the legislation in force, was proposed measures to ensure the migration patency of fish tubes and fish monitoring.
The planned new hydroelectric power plant Čunovo II has a spatially and operatingly directly to the neighboring existing hydroelectric power plant Čunovo. Both Envirorezort and Developer declare that there will be no need to create new fever or change the Danube subsidy. It will currently use unused flow to the old Danube trough.
According to the Director General of the Water Management Construction, Petr Molda, the water managers launched pre -project preparation of the investment plan. “We are already elaborated by the CBA feasibility and analysis study. We are planning the start of work at the new power plant for 2028,” Molda said.
The total cost of the long -term planned project of water managers is estimated at at least EUR 50 million. The final amount will depend on the outcome of the public and transparent competition. Water managers want to finance the project mainly from their own resources. The new hydroelectric power plant is to produce 82 GWh of electricity annually.
