Trump defends “miscreant,” says Paulo Teixeira in an act of the left

Minister of Agrarian Development and Family Farming was in demonstration in the Center of São Paulo in defense of sovereignty

The Minister of Agrarian Development and Family Farming, Paulo Teixeira, said on Sunday (7.Set.2025) that US President Donald Trump (Republican Party) gave up the partnership with Brazil “To defend a miscreant”.

Teixeira participated in the left act for national sovereignty in Praça da República, in downtown São Paulo. Also present were the Minister of Labor and Employment, Luiz Marinho, Federal Deputies Guilherme Boulos (PSOL-SP) and Ivan Valente (PSOL-SP), former Minister and former Deputy José Dirceu and PT President Edinho Silva.

“Our sovereignty is being attacked in a vile way by a foreign country. Brazil has always been a US partner. And out of nowhere, to defend a miscreant, the US president increases tariffs against Brazilian products harming the American economy and the American people.”said Teixeira.

On July 9, Trump announced 50% rates on Brazilian products. Justified the media by saying that Brazil promotes a “Witch Hunt” Against your ally Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The former Brazilian president is accused of trying to give a coup after losing the 2022 elections to Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT).

By announcing tariffs, Trump said Brazil should interrupt criminal proceedings against Bolsonaro “immediately”. The Supreme Federal Court (STF) should give a judgment on the trial of the former Brazilian president by Friday (12.set). “This week nothing will take the Brazilian judiciary to fulfill its role. Brazil will not accept this nature’s threats”said Teixeira.

The guidelines also include the end of the 6 x 1 scale, a reduction in the journey from 44 to 40 hours per week without salary cut, taxation of super rich, punishment for acts of January 8, 2023 and regulation of social networks against fake news.

The disclosure of the act gained little traction on social networks. Pages of ,,, (Single Workers Central) and (National Student Union) released the event in the X, but few deputies called participants. Among them were the State (PT-SP) and the federal (PSOL-SP) and (PT-SP).

On Thursday (4.Set), in conversation with activists in the Serra agglomerated community, on the outskirts of BH, the president (PT) called for mobilization against amnesty, without citing the demonstrations directly. “If you are going to vote for Congress, we risk amnesty. It is important to be sure, because Congress you know, it is not a congress elected by the periphery. Congress has helped the government-the government approved almost everything it wanted-but the far right has a lot of strength. So the battle has to be done by the people,” these.

In the morning, in Sé Square, the annual gathered protesters from 7am. With the motto “Taking care of the ordinary house and democracy is the fight of every day”, The scream promoted votes for the popular referendum on labor rights. The demonstration offered breakfast to homeless people before joining the main act at 9am.

Pro-Bolsonaro Act in the afternoon

In the afternoon, supporters of the former president will focus on Paulista Avenue from 15h, in the act react Brazil, organized by Pastor Silas Malafaia. The manifestation defends amnesty, religious freedom and expression. The organization did not disclose audience expectation.

The 2 events will not cross because of different times and places. Praça da República, where the left manifestation is concentrated, is about 3 kilometers from Paulista Avenue, where it will meet right. On foot, the route would take about 40 minutes.

The demonstrations on the same day are a strength test on the streets. In 2025, so far, the right managed to mobilize more people than the left in São Paulo.
