Kim Jong-un in his speech did not directly mention nuclear weapons, but his mention of the “remarkable status” of the DPRK apparently referred to the nuclear and rocket arsenal of the country, Jonhap wrote TASR. Kim declared that “no one and in no way threatens the absolute status and security of our state, and no force can stop the powerful current towards the era of prosperity that we create ourselves.”
Kim’s statements correspond to the current attitude of North Korea that he will never give up his nuclear program.
“The truth is that the socialism we chose is the only right way,” Kim said, adding that the DPRK has built a strong political system and its nation is a great power. “We will not believe the fate of our country in the hands of foreign forces,” he added.
At the same time, Kim mentioned North Korean troops sent to support Russia in the war against Ukraine and appreciated their work in “foreign military operations.”
