At the DomitiPlatz in Ephesos in today’s western Turkey, an almost completely preserved, painted plate came to light during the excavations 2022 and 2023. In the early 7th century, he broke in a room of a business district that fell victim to a destructive event. Due to its uniqueness and excellent state of preservation, the plate can be called a small archaeological sensation, although it is not luxury goods made of precious metal or glass, but simple usage ceramics. But the inside of the vessel is richly painted – with scenes that lead us in the middle of the imagination of past times.
