Choosing a name for a child is a very important moment, but some parents decide on unusual suggestions. Sometimes The head of the Registry Office may refuse to write the name to the birth certificate. Officials may also ask Polish Language Council (RJP). Then she will assess the choice of parents and will justify whether it can be given or not, indicating the reasons.
Children should not be named that can be considered indecent, ridiculous or preventing the child’s sex to be distinguished. In addition, names should not be chosen in a diminutive form. Officials can also reach for the opinion of RJP in a situation of unusual names, which, for example, come from a commonly used word in non -considering or foreign form.
In addition, the name may not consist of one letter and have signs outside the Latin alphabet. The names too long and complicated may also be rejected, which will cause difficulties when saving them in official documents. What’s more, there is a limit of two names. Parents should give the child a name up to 21 days from birth.
The change from 2015 allows parents to be more freedom in choosing names. Even Chloe or Jessica are names that are currently not amazing and are often chosen. The most important is the good of the child, the name can be original, but it should not harm or generate later ostracism, e.g. at school.

Names must have the correct spelling, So the names in which, for example, W is replaced with V will not pass, even Vitold or Veronika.
