The application is made exclusively online, through the Environmental Fund website, where the program rules are also available.
How support works
E -lar works through a voucher, which allows beneficiaries to purchase the equipment from adherent suppliers. These suppliers, in turn, are responsible for the delivery and installation of new devices, as well as for the collection and recycling of the old ones.
According to the support, support can be used to exchange gas stoves, ovens and water heater for energy -class equivalent equipment or higher. The value varies depending on the group of beneficiaries, and the most vulnerable families can receive up to 1,683 euros, while the rest are entitled to a maximum of 1,100 euros.
RULES AND DEADLINE
Once issued, the voucher has to be used within 60 days. The application may be subject to supervision, and non -compliance with the rules may imply the return of equipment, as well as eventual communication to the judicial authorities.
The program has a 40 million euros allocation, partly funded by the Plan of Recovery and Resilience (PRR) and reinforced by the Environmental Fund. Applications will be open until June 2026 or until the funds available.
The government underlines that the purpose of the program is not only to reduce energy costs, but also contribute to the energy transition and to reduce gas dependence in the domestic context.
An incentive to reduce consumption
With E -lar, Portugal joins other European countries that have encouraged the replacement of old and less efficient equipment.
Thousands of families are expected to take this support to modernize their kitchens and water heating systems, taking a step towards more sustainable and economic houses.
