Orange warning until noon in Valencia and Alicante and until 15.00 in the Balearic Islands

The Balearic Islands and the Valencian Community continue with orange notices for rains and storms and large water accumulations in a few hours, according to the Spanish Meteorology Agency (Aemet). Specifically, the coastlines of the provinces of Valencia and Alicante are in orange warning, until 12.00, due to rain accumulations up to 140 liters per square meter in 12 hours. At 8.00 the warning for strong thrombas, rains of up to “80 liters in a few hours” has expired in the coastlines of Valencia and Alicante.

They are also in orange notice due to heavy rains – 50 liters in an hour – and large accumulations – 12 liters in 12 hours – in Ibiza, Formentera and the Mallorcan areas of the Sierra de Tramuntana, the South and the Levant of the Island of Mallorca. In this case, the notices will be in force until 15.00.

The Aemet expects for this Tuesday to maintain instability in the east and southeast peninsular and Balearic Islands, under the influence of a cold vaguada in height. Thus, from early hours they will predominate in these cloudy or covered skies areas and precipitation with storm will be given, with a probability that they are locally and/or persistent in the Valencian Community, Murcia and the Balearic Islands, as well as locally very strong in coastlines of Valencia, Alicante, Cartagena, Mallorca and Pitiusas.

In the afternoon, abundant cloudiness of evolution will be formed in the southern and southeast halves, with possible scattered showers, which will be more likely in the Eastern Pyrenees and will be accompanied by occasional storms in the mountain of the southeast third. In addition, a stable time is expected in the northwest peninsular third, with little cloudy skies, in addition to a low morning cloud in regions of the north end and some occasional drizzle in the Cantabrian.
