The Paraíba Civil Police identified last Saturday (4) an establishment that sold alcohol to Francisco Rariel Dantas da Silva, 32, possible fatal victim of intoxication resulting from the intake of adulterated drink with methanol.
Francisco Rariel was taken to the Campina Grande Trauma Hospital, where he died after suffering cardiac arrests. The case happened in the municipality of Baraúna, in the central region of the state of Paraíba.
Together with teams from Agevisa (State Health Surveillance Agency), police officers inspected several commercial establishments in Baraúna, reaching a deposit of precarious hygiene facilities and procedures.
The establishment is from the distributor who sold the product to a grocery store in the city, where Francisco bought the drink. In the warehouse, more than a thousand empty containers and more than a hundred bottles containing from various brands were found.
Samples of the products were sent to the Scientific Police Institute (IPC), where expert analyzes will be performed. Agevisa also collected the material.
The Civil Police launched police inquiry to investigate all the circumstances of the fact and should start listening to more people from this Monday (6).
