In the Polish People's Republic, women dyed their hair with it. Now it's coming back into favor again

Women are fed up with the widespread use of chemicals and complex formulas in the cosmetics industry. As a result, you can see how a certain part of the beauty world is taking a small step back.

More and more people are willing to use the beauty tricks that existed In 2025, the old, proven dyeing method returns to favor. Of course, we are talking about the use of henna, an easily available and natural dye.

Do you dye your hair to change its color, but you have the impression that with each use of a drugstore product, the strands are getting worse and worse? JIf they are damaged and brittle, and you prefer to do it yourself instead of going to a hairdresser, at least take an interest in the composition of what you apply to your strands.

It’s better to abandon silicones, oxidants and other harmful additives. Instead of regular paints, use henna. It is a natural dye that was used by our grandmothers and mothers, and now after many years it is coming back into favor again. It allows you to change the shade of your hair in a natural and safe way and helps them .

Before henna was one of the few easily available, natural ways to give hair a dark, expressive color. They were used not only to change the shade of strandsalthough of course this was her main task.

Women also used henna to give their hair a healthy shine and improve its condition. It works like a natural laminate, covering each strand with a thin protective layer that smoothes them and prevents them from breaking.

Henna dye (lawsone) binds to the hair’s keratin and seals its structure. Pure henna does not contain oxidants, silicones or ammonia, unlike ordinary paints.

It is a dye, so it should not destroy the structure of the hair, but strengthen it. It also has cleansing and antibacterial properties, which often has a positive effect on the scalp.

You should not wash your head with shampoo after dyeing your hair with henna for about 48 hours (this time may slightly differ from the manufacturer’s recommendations). It is better not to do this so that the pigment has time to harden (oxidize) and penetrate the hair structure.

If you ignore this, the color will not be intense and long-lasting. Avoid washing your head after dyeing with henna, especially if the shampoo contains strong SLS/SLES detergents, which contributes to opening the hair cuticles and washing out the dye. Some delicate products may be acceptable, but it is better to refrain.
