US Senate rejects, for the seventh time, proposal to end shutdown

Refusal occurs as the deadline for payment of military salaries approaches

Democratic senators blocked the plan of members of the Republican Party to reopen the government, during a shutdown, for the seventh time this Thursday (9), according to information from the North American press. The refusal comes as the deadline for payment of military salaries approaches.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.M., and most of his caucus have shown no sign of breaking ground as the shutdown enters its ninth day. Republicans are also unwilling to concede, further solidifying the stalemate in the Upper Chamber.

At a Cabinet meeting this Thursday, the President of the United States, , stated that Democrats called him to signal their desire to resume activities, but stressed that Democrats “do not want the best” for the United States.
