An emergency training held this Wednesday morning (8) at Cruzeiro do Sul International Airport caught the attention of residents of the AC-405 region and generated a wave of speculation on social media and WhatsApp groups.
Without knowing that it was a simulation, a resident of the area recorded an audio describing the intense movement of vehicles, ambulances and Fire Department cars, believing she was witnessing a serious accident or a real fire. The recording quickly spread on social media and drew attention due to its tone of concern and rich detail.

“And then, Rafaela, I think it was around 10:30 am to 11:00 am, first two police cars passed here, then two more, then five, six police cars passed, then two firefighters passed by, then four fire engines passed, then two SAMUs passed by… all kicked with the ‘syringe’ on”, said the resident, in reference to the sirens.
Still in the audio, she reports the movement of vehicles towards the Igarapé Preto neighborhood and mentions that ambulances appeared to be going to Hospital do Juruá, reinforcing the impression of a real case. “All I can say is that the case is serious, my sister”, he concludes.

Despite the commotion, the movement was an emergency drill, a common practice at Brazilian airports and required by the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC). The exercise aims to train security teams, firefighters, SAMU and other rapid response bodies to act in real situations, such as plane crashes or passenger emergencies.
The airport administration and the bodies involved had not yet issued an official statement at the time of writing this article, but sources confirmed that it was a previously planned training session, without any real incident.
