The US will install a “civil-military coordination center” in Israel, with around 200 soldiers, with the mission of supporting and monitoring the ceasefire agreement in Gaza. Trump flies to the Middle East on Sunday.
Citing North American authorities who requested anonymity, the AP said that the US will send soldiers to Israel to help control the ceasefire.
The civil-military coordination center to be established by the United States Central Command will also help facilitate the flow of humanitarian aid, as well as logistical and security assistance to the territory devastated by two years of war.
The team to be sent includes resources from partner nations, non-governmental organizations and private sector actors, said the same source. The sending of a detachment of 200 US soldiers was also reported by AFP.
Donald Trump who is expected to fly to the Middle East on Sundaywithin the framework of the ceasefire and hostage release agreement in the Gaza Strip.

Trump promoted the current peace plan and was the one who announced the agreement on Wednesday, after several days of indirect contacts between the parties in Egypt.
The Israeli Prime Minister’s office, Benjamin Netanyahudeclared on social media that Trump deserves to win the Nobel Peace Prize.
Netanyahu also invited Trump to give a speech before parliament (Knesset) during his next visit to Israel, without mentioning dates, after an “emotional conversation” in which the two exchanged congratulations on a “historic achievement” that has not yet materialized.
The first stage of the peace plan contemplates the release of almost two thousand Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the return of 48 hostages still in the possession of Hamas. Israel estimates that only 20 are alive.
Around 250 people are sentenced to life sentences and another 1,700 are arrested following the .
It is also planned at this stage to entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza and a partial withdrawal of the Israel Defense Forces.
The Hebrew military will have to be positioned behind the “yellow line” demarcated by the USA, the dividing line between Israel and the Gaza Strip, with a perimeter of between 1.5 and 6.5 kilometers, depending on the border areas covered.
The Government of Netanyahu has already ratified the first phase of the peace plan in Gaza and the withdrawal of troops must take place within 24 hours, with 72 hours to exchange hostages and prisoners between the parties.
Disarmament in Gaza in the next phase
This Thursday, the North American President, Donald Trumpstated that he expects a “disarmament” and “withdrawal” of troops in the next phase of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, highlighting the priority of freeing hostages held by Hamas Islamists.
Negotiations for the second phase of the plan should begin immediately after the signing of the first stage agreement.
The North American plan also foresees the creation of a “peace committee” chaired by Trump himself to oversee the transitional government in the Gaza Strip that includes former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
