Italian Prime Minister was the only woman at a meeting held in Egypt, on Monday, with leaders from almost 30 countries
The President of the United States, (Republican Party), addressed the Prime Minister of Italy, (Brothers of Italy, right), on Monday (13.Oct.2025), to say that he sees her as a “beautiful young woman”.
The comment was made by Trump during the summit for peace in Gaza, held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, which brought together leaders from almost 30 countries, with Meloni being the only woman present. They go to the Gaza Strip, the 1st stage of the White House peace plan to end the war in the Middle East.
“I’m not allowed to say that because it’s usually the end of your political career if you say that — she’s a beautiful young woman.”Trump said, referring to Meloni in the middle of a speech about his efforts for peace in Gaza. And he added: “If you use the word ‘beautiful’ in the United States to refer to a woman, it’s the end of your political career, but I’ll take my chances.”.
Trump further said: “You don’t mind being called beautiful, right? Because you are”. The Italian prime minister was positioned behind the US president, on the summit stage, alongside other world leaders.
Meloni didn’t react to the Republican’s comments, but smiled when he turned to her to ask if she minded being called a “linda”.
Trump went on to praise Meloni. Said she’s a “incredible” ideological ally when it comes to immigration and cultural issues. “And they really respect her in Italy. She is a very successful politician”he added.
