Juventus Turin is being investigated by UEFA (Union of European Football Associations)
for violating the rules of financial fair play, an infraction for which he has already received a suspension from European competitions in the 2023/24 season, according to documents published by the club on Thursday (16).
“In reference to the parameter of the revenue rule, on September 18th, as is usual in similar situations for clubs participating in UEFA competitions, Juventus received from UEFA a communication about the opening of a procedure for the possible surplus for the three-year period 2022/23 to 2024/25”, explained Juventus.
“The result of this procedure is expected in the spring of 2026 and could result in a possible financial sanction (although probably of insignificant value), as well as possible sporting restrictions (such as, for example, restrictions on the registration of new players on UEFA competition lists),” he added.
In the documents sent to shareholders for its general meeting on November 7, the most successful club in Italian football guarantees “that it has respected the Squad Cost index (salaries and transfer compensation that must not exceed 70% of revenue) and expects to be able to respect this parameter also for the calendar year 2025”.
According to the rules of financial fair play, the deficit allowed for a club in three years must not exceed 60 million euros (R$380 million), a deficit that rises to 90 million euros (R$570 million) in the same period for a club “in good financial health”.
Juventus recorded losses of 58.1 million euros (R$368 million) during the 2024/25 season, a notable drop compared to the 199.2 million euros (R$1.2 billion) lost in the previous financial year.
The club, controlled by the Agnelli family with the holding company Exor, was excluded from European competitions in the 2023/24 season due to infractions related to financial fair play.
Before the seventh round of Serie A, this weekend, the Bianconero club, which will face Como on Sunday (19), occupies fourth place, three points behind the leader and current champion Napoli.
