Israeli planes launched two airstrikes in the south on Sunday (19), according to witnesses and media reports, while a military official accused it of violating the ceasefire and attacking troops.

Two Palestinian witnesses told the AFP that clashes initially broke out in a part of the city of Rafah, in the south of the Gaza Strip, still under Israeli control, followed by two airstrikes.

The Israeli official, who did not confirm the airstrikes, said fighters from the Hamas terror group attacked his forces with fire from a sniper and a grenade launcher. “This is a blatant violation of the ceasefire,” the official told AFP.
