Sérgio Hinds and the sound that crossed mountains arrives in DF

When Sérgio Hinds formed O Terço, in the early 1970s, Brazil was beginning to discover progressive rock — but the guitarist was already dreaming of something broader: a sound that combined virtuosity, poetry and Brazilianness. Decades later, that spirit still accompanies him. “Music is what moves me. Each note is a search for meaning”, the musician told Metropolises.

On October 25th, he will perform at the Festival Estilo Brasil, in Brasília, alongside Lô Borges and Beto Guedes, reviving the symbolic partnership between the rock of O Terço and the harmonic subtlety of Clube da Esquina. “When Flávio Venturini joined the band, he took the Minas Gerais DNA with him. This connection was always present — and now it will flourish on stage.”

The presentation promises to combine energy and nostalgia, with arrangements that cross borders between the erudite and the popular. “Progressive rock and Minas Gerais music have a lot in common: the desire for freedom. This show is about that.”

Sérgio also sees the meeting as an opportunity for dialogue with younger audiences. “There are many people rediscovering O Terço on digital platforms. It’s beautiful to realize that the sound is still finding new ears.”

With five decades on the road, he sees each performance as a new beginning. “Music is a language that never gets old. As long as I can play, I will be telling my story.”

The Estilo Brasil Festival is hosted by Banco do Brasil Estilo, sponsored by BB Visa, Banco do Brasil and Federal Government cards. The realization is Metropolisesproduced by Oh! Arts.
