Bogota – A court in Colombia has acquitted former President Álvaro Uribe (2002-2010) of charges of witness bribery and procedural fraud in the second instance. The criminal chamber in the capital Bogotá thus overturned the former head of state’s sentence of twelve years in prison in the first instance. The public prosecutor can still appeal the decision to the Supreme Court.
