The main objective of the course is to train members on how cooperatives work, including rights, duties and the coffee cooperative governance process.
Valdemiro Rocha, president of the OCB System in Acre, highlighted the importance of training: “We are here to qualify producers who wish to become members of CooperCafé. The Statute requires all new members to take this course, where they learn about cooperatives, their rights and duties, so that they can make the most of the benefits of being a member of the cooperative. There is no limit to places, and currently CooperCafé has approximately 180 members. Those who If they have at least a thousand coffee trees and have completed the course they can join without any difficulties”, he stated.
Éden Marcos Reinaldo da Cunha, who is about to start planting coffee, highlighted the relevance of the training. “My expectations are the best, as we are just starting this work. This training was an opportunity for all of us, from small to large producers, to become coffee producers in the future”, he commented.
Mayor Zequinha Lima also emphasized the importance of cooperativism for local development. “It is essential to focus on cooperativism and promote coffee cultivation. We are investing so that new cultures can develop in the municipality. I am sure that this movement will only grow and that, God willing, we will celebrate the progress of everyone involved”, he concluded.
