It is a parade of color and tradition that takes place in the Canton of Friborg, Switzerland, every year. The cows return from the mountains at a time called desalpe and which marks the end of the summer season in the Alps. Among the cowbells and flowers that decorate the cows, Portuguese voices echo that help keep this centuries-old celebration alive.

Thousands of kilometers from Portugal, there is a Portuguese community that grows among mountains and traditions. The canton is made up of seven districts and 136 communes. Two languages ​​are spoken here: French and German, but on the streets of Friborg there is still an accent that sounds familiar.
