Brazil is not a priority for Trump on his trip to Asia, says expert

The possible meeting between Lula and Donald Trump next Sunday (26), in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, during the Asean (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) summit, marks an attempt at diplomatic rapprochement between Brazil and the United States. For Pfeifer, if the meeting between the two leaders takes place, without major advances in bilateral relations. “I don’t think much will come out of this meeting, it could be a cordial meeting, more of a chat”, he states.

The expert questions the choice of place and time for a possible bilateral meeting. For him, Malaysia would not be the most appropriate environment for substantial discussions between the two countries, characterizing the possible meeting as just a small advance in diplomatic relations.
