The senator suggested that Pete Hegseth, United States Secretary of War, ‘help’ Brazil in combating drug trafficking in Guanabara Bay
The leader of the PT in the Chamber of Deputies, (RJ), filed this Friday (24), a criminal representation in the Federal Supreme Court () against the senator (PL-RJ), due to publications made by the parliamentarian on social media. In the post in question, the former president’s son shared a publication by United States Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, which reported on an attack by American military personnel on a vessel belonging to a terrorist organization in the East Pacific.
When republishing the content, Flávio Bolsonaro suggested that Hegseth “help” Brazil in combating drug trafficking in Guanabara Bay, in Rio de Janeiro. “Today, at the direction of President Trump, the Department of War carried out yet another lethal kinetic attack against a vessel operated by a Designated Terrorist Organization (DTO). Once again, the now deceased terrorists were involved in drug trafficking in the East Pacific,” Hegseth wrote on the X social network.
When sharing the content, Flávio wrote: “I’m so jealous! I heard that there are boats like this here in Rio de Janeiro, in Guanabara Bay, flooding Brazil with drugs. Wouldn’t you like to spend a few months here helping us fight these terrorist organizations?”
In the letter sent to the STF, Lindbergh classified the senator’s demonstration as a “direct affront to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Brazil”.
According to the PT member, Flávio’s statement is not supported by the principle of freedom of expression. “It is unacceptable for a senator of the Republic, whose mandate has as its essence the defense of the permanent interests of the Brazilian State, to publicly advocate in favor of the submission of national sovereignty to the military power of another country”, stated Lindbergh in the representation.
