Russia and North Korea see ‘aggressive US action’ as a cause for tension

Russia and North Korea said they share the “understanding that aggressive actions by the USA and its allies are the main cause of the increase in tensions on the Korean Peninsula, in Northeast Asia and in the world”, according to a statement released this Monday, 27, by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The “mutual understanding” results from a meeting between Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Choe Son-hui to discuss bilateral ties between Moscow and Pyongyang, held earlier on Monday.

The ministers spoke about bilateral cooperation and implementation of agreements reached by the leaders of both countries, “reaffirming the commitment to the strategic partnership”, describes the statement.
