Real Madrid striker Vinicius Junior apologized this Wednesday (29) to “teammates, club and president” for his reaction after being substituted in the classic against Barcelona, on Sunday (26), at the Bernabéu, which ended in his team’s 2-1 victory.
“Today I want to apologize to all Madrid fans for my reaction to being substituted in the Clásico. Just as I did personally during training today, I also want to apologize again to my teammates, the club and the president,” wrote the Brazilian.
“Sometimes passion takes over me because I always want to win and help my team. My competitive personality is born from the love I feel for this club and everything it represents. I promise to continue fighting every second for the good of Real Madrid, as I have done since day one,” he added.
Vini did not mention coach Xabi Alonso in the message, who decided to replace him with Rodrygo in the second half, which caused his irritation when he left the field. In the post-game interview, Alonso declared that he would talk to the player in the dressing room.
