Datafolha: 57% of Rio residents see mega-operation as a success

Datafolha research released this Saturday (1st) reveals that 57% of residents of Rio de Janeiro and the metropolitan region assessed the mega-operation as a “success” against the Comando Vermelho, held in the Penha and Alemão complexes, in the North Zone of the city.

The survey heard 626 voters by telephone between Thursday (30) and Friday (31). The margin of error is 4 percentage pointsplus or minus, with a 95% confidence level.

According to the institute, 38% of respondents said completely agree with thewho classified the operation as a success. Another 18% said partially agree — totaling the 57% mentioned.

Already 27% disagreed completely from the assessment. Furthermore, 3% neither agreed nor disagreed and 2% did not know how to answer.

The research also showed that the support for the operation is greater among men (68%), while rejection is highest (49%) and among young people aged 16 to 24 (59%).

Among those interviewed, 48% stated that the operation it was very well executeda, 21% considered it regularidentifying flaws, and 24% said it was poorly executed. Another 7% said they did not know how to evaluate.

When asked who the dead were, 50% said they believed the majority were criminals, 31% said they were all criminals, 4% said they believed the criminals were a minority, and 1% believed none of them were involved in illicit activities. Another 13% were unable to answer.

Operation Containment

Operation Containment was a joint mega-operation of the Civil and Military police of Rio de Janeiro, carried out last Tuesday (28), in the Alemão and Penha complexes, in the North Zone of the capital of Rio de Janeiro. THE deadliest in state history.

The mega-operation generated “chaos” in the city. Municipal and state schools were closed, health units suspended their initial operations, and bus routes had their routes diverted.
