American rapper Sean “” Combs has been transferred to a low-security prison in New Jersey to serve his more than four-year sentence for prostitution-related crimes, according to federal records. The singer is in seclusion at the Fort Dix center, about 130 kilometers south of New York. The place is known for its drug addiction treatment programs.

The artist was arrested in September 2024. Since then, he was detained in a prison institution in the New York neighborhood of Brooklyn, known for its precarious condition. There, he was threatened by another inmate.

The rapper’s lawyers requested the transfer of Combs, who will remain in prison until May 8, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. This period considers the prison time served and the reduction of approximately 15% of the sentence for good behavior.

Victims

The rapper was found guilty in July this year of transporting people between states for the purpose of prostitution. However, he was acquitted by the jury of the most serious charges: sex trafficking and organized crime.

Before the judge handed down his sentence in early October, Combs told the court he was “truly sorry” for his actions. The singer apologized to his family and victims, saying his behavior was “disgusting, shameful and sickening.”

The hip-hop mogul appealed both his conviction and sentence. Combs appealed both his conviction and sentence.
