Sinner climbs to the top of the world rankings with the title in Paris

Paris – South Tyrolean Jannik Sinner is back at the top of the world tennis rankings. On Sunday, the 24-year-old, seeded number two, defeated the ninth-ranked Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime 6:4,7:6(4) in the final of the Masters 1000 tournament in Paris and replaced Carlos Alcaraz in first place. The Spaniard lost his opening match against Briton Cameron Norrie. Sinner had triumphed in Vienna just a week before, so he collected 1,500 points in those two weeks.
