Magnitude 6.3 earthquake shakes northern Afghanistan


Mazar-i-Sharif – A magnitude 6.3 earthquake shook northern Afghanistan. According to the US Earthquake Observatory USGS, the earthquake occurred on Sunday near the city of Mazar-i-Sharif in Balkh province at a depth of ten kilometers below the earth’s surface. The quake was felt as far away as the capital Kabul, around 300 kilometers away, as AFP correspondents reported.
