  • Viktor Orbán criticized the EU for plans to finance Ukraine.
  • It plans to support Hungarian families, businesses and pensioners with concrete measures.

On Monday, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán sharply criticized the European Union for its plans to finance Ukraine on Facebook. He recalled the analysis of The Economist weekly, according to which Ukraine would need in the coming four years 400 billion USD (346 billion euros), which, according to Brussels, would be paid by Europe, informs the correspondent of TASR in Budapest.

“Arms, reconstruction, pensions, salaries – while the bill would be drawn on Europe. No other fools could be found to add to this,” wrote Orbán. According to him, this is the reason for Brussels’ nervousness and that is why he wants to reach for frozen Russian assets, that is why he wants to reform the EU subsidy system and take out new loans. However, Hungary rejects it, it has no reason to finance Ukraine either politically, economically or morally, emphasized Orbán.

“We are not alone (in this) in Europe, but we are the most open. That is why they are constantly attacking from Brussels. They need an obedient government with the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, an economic policy in line with the EU, Brussels experts and an installed prime minister“, he added.

“In the next four years, we want to support Hungarian families, Hungarian businesses and Hungarian pensioners. That is why we are introducing tax breaks for mothers with three and two children, expanding the three percent loan for businesses and therefore, we will also introduce a 14th monthly pension,” concluded Orbán.
