The president of the Portuguese Association of Hospital Administrators says that the databases of Local Health Units (ULS) and hospitals are not integrated.
“When the Local Health Units were created, we should have guaranteed the integration of information and we did not guarantee it.”
Xavier Barreto says that it is the responsibility of several governments and not just the current Minister of Health.
“If political responsibility exists, it must be shared by several Ministers of Health, not just by this minister. Whoever carried out the reform, two years ago, and created the ULS did not guarantee that this articulation existed. It is true that since then, very little has been done to integrate this information”, he told journalists.
