Orchids, also called orchids, are popular potted plants with intensely green leaves and exotic flowers in various colors. It must be admitted that growing them is not the easiest thing – we have to take care of them constantly to make them bloom. In this article you will learn the most important rules for caring for these specimens and .

First, we should provide the orchid with a suitable position. We place it in a bright place with diffused light. An eastern or south-eastern windowsill will be best. We avoid direct sunlight – they may burn its leaves. In turn, shade causes them to turn yellow. This plant tolerates room temperature. So it would be good if it was 20-23 degrees Celsius during the day and 18 degrees Celsius at night.

For orchids, we choose a special substrate intended for these plantsconsisting of a mixture of tree bark, sphagnum moss, expanded clay or perlite, charcoal and coconut fibers. We place it in transparent covers and pots where we can control the humidity of the soil.

Proper watering is very important when growing these specimens. It is best to perform this treatment in the morning so that the water can evaporate freely before the cooler evening temperature. Water baths for orchids are recommended. To do this, we immerse the pot with the plant in a bowl of water for 15-20 minutes and then drain the excess water. We do this on average every 10-14 days, checking the color of the roots. When they are silver, we can water the flower.

This specimen prefers humid air. That’s why you should sprinkle it often or place an air humidifier near it. We can also hang wet towels on the radiators. This is especially important during the heating season.

We also cannot forget about fertilization. Thanks to it, the plant grows healthily and begins to bloom. This procedure is carried out when the specimen produces leaves, shoots and tubers.
