Representation spaces in the Blue Zone were not ready until the end of the Leaders Summit; rooms are used for meetings of country representatives
The pavilions of countries that will participate in COP30 remained unfinished at the end of the Leaders Summit, on Friday (7.Nov.2025). Media access to the location where the pavilions are located is closed this Sunday (Nov 9). The reason given by the organization of the event is security checks.
COP30 (2025 United Nations Conference of the Parties on Climate Change) will begin on Monday (10.Nov.2025). It will run until November 21st. The Leaders Summit was on Thursday and Friday (6-7.nov). There were 31 heads of state and government. Participation in the 4 previous COPs.
The president (PT) visited the conference venue on Saturday (Nov 8). This Sunday (9.nov) he will travel to Colombia to participate in the 4th Celac-UE Summit (Community of Latin American States and the European Union). You will be back in Belém this Sunday night (Nov 9). COP30 will open on Monday (Nov 10).
The country pavilions are in the Blue Zone. It is an area where there are rooms for meetings of country representatives to discuss and negotiate COP30 decisions. Only people accredited by the UN (United Nations) can enter the site. There is also the Green Zone, with pavilions for companies and entities. It is a free access area.
PRECARIOUS INFRASTRUCTURE
Leaders’ Summit participants had issues with unfinished infrastructure. There was a lack of water in the bathrooms at various times on Thursday and Friday (6-7.nov). The service in some of the restaurants was precarious, with delays and food that should have been hot served cold.

The concessionaires said that the failures were the result of not having been authorized to enter the site and install what was necessary for the activity.
