Fatal jump in the Alps: Wingsuit pilot († 47) died in an accident!

A German wingsuit pilot died while jumping in the Swiss Alpsa police spokesman told the DPA agency, writes TASR. A 47-year-old man from Brandenburg jumped on Friday shortly after 5:00 p.m. local time at a height of approximately 2,080 meters together with another German near the village of Vättis in eastern Switzerland.

The police in the canton of St. Gallen stated that the man took off first and his body was subsequently found by the air rescue service. The case is now being handled by the prosecutor’s office, which is investigating the circumstances of the accident.

Wingsuits have a fabric between the torso, arms and legs that replaces the function of wings and allows the transition from free fall to horizontal flight. Flying in such clothes is considered a dangerous extreme sport. On Thursday, a 29-year-old man crashed and died while attempting a wingsuit flight in Switzerland.
