A motorcyclist lost his life in a collision with a truck in the Svidník district. The Regional Directorate of the Police Force (KR PZ) in Prešov reported on the social network that the accident happened on Sunday after 12:00 p.m. behind the village of Šarišský Štiavnik in the direction of Radom. Road I/21 is currently completely impassable in both lanes.
“During the collision between a truck and a motorcycle, a 67-year-old motorcyclist suffered injuries and died on the spot. The driver of the truck was breathalyzed with a negative result. All emergency services are on the scene,” the police said, adding that the I/21 road is currently completely impassable in both lanes.
Passenger traffic is diverted in the village of Stročín towards Stropkov and from Giraltoviec towards Fijaš. International freight traffic is diverted by the police in the village of Lipníky towards Vranov nad Topľou. “We ask drivers to respect the instructions of the police and use the marked detours,” supplied by KR PZ.
