“Falcão” competed in Portimão in his last race on Portuguese soil in the MotoGP category, before heading to the Superbike World Championship.
Andreia Pimenta, Miguel Oliveira’s wife, was emotional as she said goodbye to her husband from Portugal as a Moto GP rider.
“It’s all a mixture of feelings, from which comes perhaps a little sadness, but, above all, great gratitude and great joy for everything he has already achieved”, he said, speaking to journalists at the end of the race.
The 30-year-old rider completed his last race on Portuguese soil in the MotoGP category this Sunday in Portimão, before heading, in 2026, to the Superbike championship.
The Portuguese Grand Prix was won by Italian driver Marco Bezzecchi.
