The Judicial Police (PJ) did today searches em Lisbon, Nazaré and Caldas da Rainhawhich included the Nazaré City Council, Portuguese Environment Agency (WHAT) e Docapesca, on suspicion of economic participation in business, forgery, corruption and money laundering.
In , the PJ said that it did 15 searcheshome and non-domestic, “in a public limited company, in a City Council, in five premises of State bodies, in the headquarters of three commercial companies and in a tourist development”.
A source linked to the process told Lusa that the Nazaré City Councilthe Portuguese Environment Agency, Docapesca, the Directorate of Lighthouses and the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Regional Coordination and Development Commission were the targets of searches.
“At issue are facts related to the processing of a concession contract, for 40 years, regarding the private use of an area of the public maritime domain – which includes the public water domain –, located in the port area of Port of Shelter of Nazarécorresponding to the rehabilitation and conservation of nine houses located there for tourist purposes”, explained the PJ in a statement.
The authority ensures that it will continue the investigation with the analysis of the evidence now collected, of a documentary and digital nature, aiming at the full investigation of all criminal conduct, its full scope and, as well, its rapid conclusion.
Participated in the operation “Dune” 40 criminal investigators and scientific police specialists from the PJ and three magistrates from the Public Ministry. It also had the support of the Center’s Board of Directors, the IT Technological Expertise Unit and the Financial and Accounting Expertise Unit.
