Stefano Domenicali, president of F1, sent a letter to the mayor of , (), in which he thanked the investments made in the Interlagos track and said that the pride and enthusiasm in Brazil for the sport “are truly exceptional” and transform the stage into a pillar of the calendar.
The São Paulo GP took place on Sunday (9) and had Lando Norris as the winner. Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto crashed and left the race. In the letter to the mayor, Domenicali referred to the São Paulo pilot as a “local hero”.
“I am grateful for the recent investments in the venue, including the modernized grandstands, improved hospitality structures and the new tunnel design. F1 is evolving rapidly and to maintain São Paulo’s status as one of the marquee events on our calendar, continued improvements to facilities and infrastructure are essential,” wrote Domenicali.
“I look forward to completing the new grandstand and bridge design, along with other improvements to ensure the circuit continues to meet the standards of a modern F1 venue.”
