(PL)’s lawyers asked this Tuesday (9) for authorization for him to leave the Federal Police Superintendency, where he is being held, to undergo new health procedures. The request was forwarded to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF (Supreme Federal Court).
In the document, the defense team once again stated that the former president has a delicate health condition and is experiencing a state of mental confusion that resulted in him being detected by the Federal Police.
In the same request, the defense again asked for the granting of humanitarian house arrest.
Bolsonaro was preventively arrested on November 22 after using a “hot iron”, a , to try to open his electronic ankle bracelet.
“As informed by the doctor responsible for treating the Petitioner, the former President needs to undergo surgery both to treat the hiccups, a consequence of the surgeries already recorded in the present case, and due to the worsening diagnosis of unilateral inguinal hernia, which also indicates the need for surgical intervention”, say the lawyers.
According to medical reports added to the defense’s request, these surgical interventions would require immediate hospitalization lasting 5 to 7 days.
“In fact, all the new medical documents that have recently been added to the file reveal a significant worsening of the Petitioner’s health condition, which previously required attention.”
