World Beatles Day gains official date; see when

A Apple Corp. recognized the movement of fans to have an international date in honor of the band’s legacy. Therefore, day June 25th was chosen as “World Beatles Day”.

The date marks the day, in 1967, when the band was in Studio One at Abbey Road Studios, in London, and participated in the BBC program Our World. On that occasion, Ringo Starr and George Harrison made the first international satellite broadcast of the song “All You Need Is Love”, performed live on the radio, which reached around 400 million people.

A few decades ago, fans around the globe used June 25th as an unofficial date to celebrate the band’s enormous legacy, with exhibitions, performances and, more, a proposal initiated by Faith Cohen, a longtime fan.
