The start of the new era was successful: at the premiere of neo-team boss Lars Söndergaard, Austria’s national women’s soccer team achieved a hard-fought 1-0 victory in the World Cup qualification against Slovenia on Friday evening. Katharina Naschenweng scored the decisive goal at the Wiener Sport-Club-Platz in the 55th minute. Slovenia had good chances to equalize in the final phase, but were unable to get the ball over the line.
