Former First Lady Michelle Bolsonaro (PL) criticized the National Congress this Thursday (11) after decisions by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), which resulted in (PL-SP). In posts on social media, Michelle said it was “sad” to see Parliament “so weakened and on its knees”.
The demonstration was made when sharing news about Moraes’ decision that annulled the session of the Chamber of Deputies that had rejected Zambelli’s impeachment. “It’s… Congress. Unfortunately, it’s sad to see you so weakened and on your knees in the face of so much arbitrariness”, wrote Michelle.
In another publication, the former first lady commented on a second decision by the minister, which ordered the president of the Chamber, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), to act. “Dark days for the so-called ‘democracy’ in our country,” he wrote.

STF decision annulled Chamber act

The minister classified the deputies’ conduct as a “clear constitutional violation” and ordered Hugo Motta to swear in substitute Adilson Barroso (PL-SP) within 48 hours.
Zambelli’s conviction history
Carla Zambelli was ordered to pay R$2 million in collective damages, after being considered responsible for the invasion of the National Justice Council (CNJ) systems. At the time, Moraes ordered his preventive arrest.
In June, the deputy left Brazil and was considered a fugitive. His name was included on the Interpol red list at the request of the STF. In July, Zambelli was arrested in Rome, Italy, and the Brazilian government formalized an extradition request through Itamaraty.
