The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), stated this Thursday, 11th, that the Dosimetry PL represents “what is possible at the moment” and defended that Bolsonaro parliamentarians continue working so that the agenda that benefits former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) advances in the Senate. The statement was made during the delivery of apartments in Carapicuíba (SP).
“I think it’s possible at the moment, I understand that we need to seek a path of pacification, the reestablishment of justice. We have to take the possible steps, what was possible politically was this, so let’s move forward with this step (Dosimetry PL) and then think about the next ones”, stated the governor.
Tarcísio was one of the main organizers of the original version of the text, the so-called Amnesty PL, which ended up being transformed into the Dosimetry PL by rapporteur Paulinho da Força (Solidariedade-SP). It was also a central part for the proposal to be processed urgently in the Chamber of Deputies.

The Amnesty PL was placed in a block with the Blindagem PEC – a movement that triggered protests in several cities in the country and led to the stagnation of both matters. The text ended up being reconfigured to reduce sentences for those convicted of the acts of January 8 and the attempted coup d’état, without granting amnesty.
Touted for months as the main name on the right to face President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) in 2026, Tarcísio was notified last week that Jair Bolsonaro chose Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) as his successor in the presidential dispute. However, the governor’s allies still believe that he could be the group’s candidate.
Now, the text of the Dosimetry PL is in the Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJ) of the Senate. The rapporteur, Esperidião Amin (PP-SC), is expected to present his opinion on Wednesday, 17th, and has already signaled the possibility of reinserting the amnesty in the report.
